LoNyLa launched its first networked lab on March 6, 2011 with the development of eight scripts, which included plays, screenplays and TV pilots.
The transatlantic lab linked London, New York and Los Angeles via live video streaming over the Internet.
LoNyLa’s aim was to help artists collaborate and hone new material across geographic and industry divides. Invited writers traveled virtually to three cities over a 3-month period and worked with seasoned actors, directors and dramaturgs.
Spring 2011: LoNyLa teams in the three cities came together for 3-hour sessions on a weekly basis to work on the material of British and American writers. Teams would log in to a single video streaming platform to broadcast the readings and provide real-time feedback to the writers.
